Spartanburg District Five schools will operate on a two hour delay on Friday, January 30. We will not send school buses down any roads that we have deemed impassable. For those students impacted, our Transportation Department will contact families directly.

Our inclement weather team, along with our Transportation Department, spent much of Thursday evaluating road conditions across the district. While conditions continue to improve and most main roads are clear, there are some sections of secondary roads that remain icy and unsafe for travel.

A two-hour delay will allow additional time for travel, provide daylight for better visibility, and support safer conditions for buses, families, staff, and student drivers.

Please note the following details for Friday:

School buses will run two hours later than normally scheduled
School start times will be two hours later than normal
- Elementary schools will begin at 9:30 a.m.
- Middle and high schools will begin at 10:15 a.m.
School buses will run two hours later than their normal schedules
Breakfast and lunch will be served at each school
There will be no 4K or PCD classes, and no morning classes at R.D. Anderson Applied Technology Center
