All Spartanburg District Five schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Monday, February 2, due to snow-covered roads, hazardous driving conditions, and extremely low temperatures expected to continue overnight. Monday will be an eLearning day for all students.  All extracurricular activities and events are also cancelled.

This weekend’s snowfall, combined with lingering ice from last weekend’s storm, has created unsafe conditions on both main and secondary roads. With a high likelihood of refreezing overnight, travel conditions are expected to be especially dangerous during the early morning hours, making it too dangerous for our buses, staff, families, and student drivers.

Teachers have already communicated eLearning assignments and expectations with students for Monday.

We know this extended stretch of winter weather has required extra patience and flexibility from our families and staff, and we truly appreciate our community's continued support. While we are all more than ready for warmer days ahead, safety will always be our top priority in District Five.

If there are any additional changes to our school schedule, District Five communicate with families as soon as possible.
