Due to the ongoing effects of the weekend ice storm, all District Five schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 27. Tuesday will be an eLearning day for all District Five students. All extracurricular activities for Tuesday have also been cancelled.
Hazardous driving conditions remain throughout many parts of our district, and extremely cold temperatures are expected to continue. Main and secondary roads are still covered with ice, making travel unsafe for our buses, families, and student drivers. Icy conditions could likely also result in downed power lines and the loss of power for many across our district.
Teachers have already shared eLearning assignments and expectations with students. However, if your family is without power or internet access, please focus on your family’s safety first. Students will have five school days after we return to school to complete any eLearning assignments.
If there are additional changes to our school schedule, we will share updates with our parents and families as soon as possible.
