Spartanburg District Five Schools is proud to announce that Ashley Jackson has been selected as the new Assistant Principal at Abner Creek Academy.  A longtime educator, Jackson needs no introduction at Abner Creek, having served as the school’s Literacy Coach since 2023.  Prior to that, she was a Reading Interventionist at the school.

“Abner Creek Academy is truly a family,” Jackson says. “I’m so thankful for the opportunity and look forward to stepping into this leadership role to serve alongside our incredible school administration.”

Jackson joined the Spartanburg District Five family in 2017, starting in the classroom at Wellford Academy teaching 3rd, then 1st grade. She earned her Bachelors in Elementary and Special Education from Anderson University, and holds a Masters in Education from Southern Wesleyan University.

“I’m so excited to build upon my relationships with our Gator family, and help Abner Creek continue to grow and thrive,” says Jackson.

Jackson will assume her new role immediately. She takes over for Kaci Cotter, who was recently named District Five’s new Director of Fine Arts.
