On November 29, 2021, District Five broke ground on its newest middle school. The school is being built next to Abner Creek Academy (ACA) and will house 6th-8th grades. It is slated to open for the 2024-2025 school year. ACA Student Body President Morgan Burgess and Vice President Cecilia Codd participated in the ceremony along with members of the ACA Honors Chorus.
