Early Release Day Scheduled For March 1
Spartanburg District Five students will have an altered schedule on Wednesday, March 1, due to an "early release day" planned for the 2022-23 school year calendar.
Last year, the District Five Board of Trustees approved two “early release” days as part of the district’s 2022-23 school year calendar. Early release days are days when students are dismissed early in order to provide teachers and staff additional time for professional development and instructional collaboration. During this time, teachers and staff will participate in both school and district-led learning to help them gain strategies and improve student achievement.
Dismissal times on early release days are as follows:
- Elementary Schools: 11:30 a.m.
- Intermediate Schools: 12:00 p.m.
- Middle and High Schools: 12:30 p.m.
Additionally, lunch and bus transportation will both be provided on early release days, just like regular school days.
