Due to hazardous weather conditions expected in the Upstate, and throughout South Carolina, from Hurricane Ian, Spartanburg District Five Schools has announced that Friday, September 30, will be an e-Learning day for students. All District Five Schools and buildings will be closed.
With wind gusts expected to exceed 40 miles per hour, roads will simply not be safe for district buses, families, or student drivers to travel.
Teachers will be in touch with students and families regarding assignments, and will post any plans to Schoology (secondary grades) or Seesaw (lower grades). As with all e-Learning days, students will have 5 days to complete any assignments. This is especially important, as we realize that power outages are possible with this storm.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of our parents and community, as safety is always the top priority in District Five Schools.
