Gameday Safety Updates

gameday safety graphicFans entering Nixon Field at James F. Byrnes High School on Friday nights will see some changes at stadium entrances, and security checkpoints,.  In order to alleviate large crowds at each gate, the following changes have been announced for the August 26 game (Chapman) and beyond:

  • Both the top gate (near band field) and bottom gate (behind home stands) will be available for home fans to use as entry points
  • The top gate (near the band field) will have two entry points: Home side and Visitor side. Digital tickets, season ticket holders and passes will be allowed as well as cash tickets at this location as well.
  • The Bottom gate will also have two entry points: one for Digital Tickets, passes and season ticket holders and a second entry for cash tickets

Games kick off at 7:30 p.m., and gates open at 6:00 p.m.  Fans are reminded to still arrive early, as traffic will be heavy around the stadium.

These additonal measures are also in place:

  • A clear bag policy will be enforced for entry into Nixon Field
  • All spectators are required to stay on the side of the stadium, home or visitor, at which they enter
  • All spectators must stay seated in the stands, unless visiting the restroom or concession stand
  • Any student, middle school age or under, must be accompanied by a parent or other adult.  Those who are unaccompanied will not be sold a ticket, nor granted entry into the game.

District Five appreciates the cooperation and understanding of our home fans and visitors, as we strive to make our campus safe for our students and community.
