New Coach To Lead Byrnes Varsity Rebel Baseball Team

Taylor Hollfield graphicThe Byrnes High School Varsity men’s baseball team will soon have a new face taking the field as head coach.  Spartanburg District Five is happy to announce that Taylor Hollifield has been selected as the new Head Coach for the Rebels, effective immediately.  Hollifield is no stranger to the team, as he’s served as assistant coach since 2017.  He steps into this new role, as former Head Coach Michael Maus takes on the position of Assistant Principal at Byrnes Freshman Academy.

Hollifield came to Spartanburg District Five after serving as a Varsity Assistant Coach at Palmetto High School in Anderson County.  He started his baseball coaching career at Limestone University as an Assistant for the Saints from 2014-15.

Hollifield earned his Bachelors in Secondary Education from North Greenville University, where he played baseball for the Crusaders from 2010-2014, including a collegiate National Championship run in 2011.  He has his Masters in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.

Off the field, Hollifield can be found in the classroom, teaching U.S. History at Byrnes.
