District Five To Accept At-Home COVID Test Results To Return From Quarantine
Beginning Monday, January 24, Spartanburg District Five Schools will begin accepting at-home COVID-19 test results in order to allow students to return early from quarantine, according to recent recommendations from DHEC. As local testing centers, including the one in District Five, have experienced large numbers of people wanting in-person tests, the district hopes this change will help in getting healthy students back to school.
Families who use an at-home test for their student must sign and complete an verifcation form, and attach a picture of their negative test result before that student is allowed to return early from quarantine. Verification forms are available here, and must be submitted to the school nurse, or firstname.lastname@example.org. At-home tests must be taken no sooner than day 5 of quarantine, in order to return to school by day 6.
For access to free at-home COVID tests, issued by the government, anyone can visit covidtests.gov.
