District Five Schools Move To Distance Learning For Friday, January 14

distance learning graphicDue to excessive staff and student absences, because of COVID-19, Spartanburg District Five Schools has announced that Friday, January 14, will be a distance learning day for all students.  While the district did not make this decision lightly, our staff absences have reached a point where we cannot provide a safe, healthy or productive learning environment for our students.  Addtionally, student absences have risen drastically this week, with more than 25% of our students absent from school.  In an effort to keep our students and staff healthy, and to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we believe it is best to close our buildings for in-person isntruction.

Schools and teachers will be in touch with students regarding instructions for distance learning.  Any students who have issues or problems with their district laptop can refer to our Virtual Tech Help Instructions, for how to call or Zoom with a member of our technology team.

The Chartwells food service team will offer free meals to any students who need them on Friday at 3 different locations:  Duncan Elementary, River Ridge Elementary, and Wellford Academy.  Meals will be available for pickup only from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
