Gameday Security Changes Announced For Nixon Field
Football games at Byrnes High School's Nixon Field will look a little different, beginning October 1, 2021. Spartanburg District Five Schools, along with the high school, will be implementing several new measures to enhance security at Nixon Field for students, fans, and the community.
Beginning October 1, a "Clear Bag Policy" will be enforced for admission into the stadium. Fans are only allowed ONE gallon Ziploc bag, or 12" x 6" x 12" clear bag, along with one small clutch (wallet size). No bookbags, tote bags, or any other non-clear bags will be allowed.
Also, beginning October 1, all middle school and elementary age students MUST be accompanied by a parent or another ticketed adult. No middle school or elementary age student will be sold a ticket or granted entry into the stadium, if not accompanied by an adult. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.
Finally, in order to provide even more security inside our stadium, there will be 3 gates for entrance into Nixon Field. Fans entering on the home side may enter at the upper "band" gate or lower parking lot gate. Visiting fans may only enter at the upper gate behind the Fine Arts Center. All spectators must stay on the side of the stadium at which they enter.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to make our campus as safe as possible for students and the community! GO REBELS!
