Spartanburg District Five students are invited out for a free night of baseball to kick off the 2021-22 school year! The event, on Tuesday, August 3, is part of the "Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Night" hosted by the Greenville Drive. All local K-12 students who register in advance will receive free tickets! Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and first pitch will be at 7:05 p.m.
The 6th annual event brings together a host of the Upstate's top manufacturers, including BMW, Michelin, Millikin, Duke Energy, Bosch Rexroth, Hoowaki, Koops, General Electric and Hubbell Lighting, to expose students to the many opportunities that exist in the manufacturing and engineering industries. The goal is to get students interest in careers in those fields.
Here's how to register your student: head to the Greenville Drive website and follow the instructions to sign up for your complimentary ticket.
When students arrive at the game, they'll receive a "passport" to visit exhibits set up by manufacturing and engineering partners, along with the Children's Museum and Greenville Technical College. All students who visit each exhibit will be entered to win a list of cool prizes!
