Thousands of District Five employees and community members will see the talent of a River Ridge Elementary 4th grader when they open up the district's annual Christmas card this year! 4th grader Caroline Morris was selected as the winner of District Five's annual holiday card contest. Caroline's masterpiece, a snowman being built by a pair of playful penguins, will grace the cover of the card, which is send to all district employees, as well as business leaders and people throughout the community.
Morris, and her art teacher, Lorie Goode, were both recognized at November's Board of Trustees meeting.
In addition to a certificate marking her achievement, the 4th grader received 50 copies of her card to use this holiday season.
The holiday card contest has been one of the district's favorite traditions for many years. Every year, art teachers from each of the school's elementary and intermediate schools submit some of the best cards from across the district. From there, the entries are evaluated by a group of district judges, who select one card to represent District Five.
