New Security Screening Process For Nixon Field At Byrnes High School
Football fans entering Byrnes High School's Nixon Field will experience a new security screening process, beginning this season. All visitors to Nixon Field will now be required to pass through metal detectors at all entrance gates, prior to attending football games. The new process comes in an effort to enhance security, as District Five and Byrnes aims to make its campus safer for students, staff, and the community.
The new detectors will be in place for the first football game this season, Byrnes vs. Greer, on August 17. Gates will open two hours prior to each kickoff all season, in an effort to minimize wait times. Fans are encouraged to plan ahead, and arrive early to also cut down on their wait.
Guests with bags, purses or backpacks will be required to use a different line to allow time for thorough screening of those items. Guests without bags will be able to use an express line for faster entry into the stadium.
Additional details, including a list of prohibited items, can be found on this informational flyer. District Five appreciates the public's patience and understanding as we strive to make our campus safer for the entire community.
