    • Professional school counselors implement a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes and enhances student achievement.
    •  Elementary school counselors don’t work in isolation; rather they are integral to the total educational program. We align with the school’s mission to support the academic achievement of all students

How does your child experience school counseling services?

    • Individual Counseling- Students may work individually with the counselor in a safe, positive, and confidential setting to address needs that may impede school achievement. Topics are based on the needs of individuals and may include: understanding feelings, changing families/divorce, grief, stress, social skills, academics, bullying, problem-solving, and decision-making.
    • Small Group Counseling- The small group is a place where 3-6 students sharing similar needs or concerns work together.  The group sessions usually last about 30 minutes and are held for approximately 6-8 weeks. Topics are based on the needs of the students and may include divorce or changing families, grief and loss, friendship and social skills, study skills, conflict resolution, anger management, self-esteem, and stress-management.
    • Classroom Counseling lessons: Classroom lessons are scheduled monthly for each class and address personal, social, academic, and career-related needs.  Topics are related to the Character Trait of the Month (see the list below).
