Dear parents and students!
Welcome to my webpage! I am very excited for another wonderful year. I have been teaching Spanish for 25 years now, and I came to Byrnes HS in the year 2000. I am a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, a beautiful island in the Caribbean. I graduated with a BA in Spanish from the University of the Sacred Heart in San Juan. I have over thirty hours in post-baccalaureate graduate studies. I also have gifted and talented certification as well as advanced placement certification. Outside of teaching I enjoy watching football, cycling, skiing, reading, talking to my daughter on the phone or do facetime with her so that I can enjoy watching my grandson Rylan whom I adore. General information about our Spanish class: To Students: There is a variety of links to the left of the page that will serve you to review, study or even have fun at times with educational games. You will have quizzes on a regular basis, (some might be pop quizzes and therefore not announced) and a major test at the end of each unit or major grammar topic. For tests, you will be notified at least two days in advanced. Extra Help is available during the school year. Make sure to schedule your tutoring beforehand. I am available in the mornings from 7:00- 7:45 am. If you need to see me in the afternoon, make sure to make an appointment with me. To Parents: Feel free to contact me if you have any concerns or questions about your child. I will post assignments on Schoology in case your child is absent. I also keep a folder in my room with any work they might have missed. Students simply look in the folder for their work. Progress reports will be sent home during the semester, but feel free to request one anytime you would like to see your child's progress.
