    Holcombe I am now in my 18th year of teaching Physical Education at Byrnes High School and my 30th year overall in teaching. I received my undergraduate degree in Physical Education and Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University and my graduate degree is from Furman University in Physical Education. I was selected as the 2008 South Carolina Physical Education Teacher of the Year, the 2009 Southern District Teacher of the Year on the High School Level, a top five finalist for National High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year and the SCAPES (South Carolina Association of Physical Education and Sport) Presidential Award Winner in Physical Education in SC for 2014. My other duties while at Byrnes have included head softball coach where we won the Upperstate Championship in 2005, 2006, and 2007. In 2005 we won the AAAA State Championship and I was selected as the NFHS National Softball Coach of the Year. I was extremely honored to receive the 2013 BHS Teacher of the Year Award and the 2016 Yearbook dedication.  I will be serving as the SCAPES President for the 2017-18 school year.
