    Melinda Duckett

Hello, my name is Mrs. Duckett. I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach your child this year. We will have a lot of fun while learning new things.  I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself.

I am married to a wonderful man, Allen, and we have two beautiful children.  James, 12, is in the sixth grade this year at Beech Springs Intermediate. Jocelyn, 4,  stays with my mom part-time and attends a child development school part-time.  I love to read books in my spare time, exercise, and spend time with my family.  James plays football and basketball so he keeps up pretty busy.  Jocelyn participates in gymnastics once a week and absoltely loves it!

I am one of five children. I have three sisters and one brother. My twin sister and I are the youngest. She is a kindergarten teacher at Laurens County School District 55. She is my best friend and we spend a lot of time together.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop University. I then went on to earn a Masters Degree from Furman University. I just earned the Gifted and Talented endorsement from Converse College this summer. This is my seventh year as a classroom teacher.  I have taught for the Fort Mill School District and the Greenville County School District. I was very happy to come back home to District Five schools. I am very proud to say that I attended school in this district and now I have the pleasure to give back what was given to me.

Please feel free to talk with me about anything. You can reach me through email or at work. I also have voicemail and I will get back to you as soon as possible. You can write notes in the agenda and I will respond the same day. I look foward to forming a parent-teacher partnership with you this year!
