Duncan Elementary School of the Arts

Dear Duncan Elementary School of the Arts Families,

My name is Marc Zachary and I am thrilled to be the principal of Duncan. This is my first year at Duncan and I am looking forward to a wonderful school year. I live in Duncan as you do, and believe that our community is a special place, as is Spartanburg School District 5.

Duncan is unique in that we offer more Arts opportunities than most elementary schools. Our children will participate in PE, Visual and Digital Arts, Choral and Instrumental Music, and Dance and Theater, as well as German classes. With our strong core instruction and Arts programs, our children are set up for success.

Our overall goals are to be among the highest performing elementary schools in the Upstate of SC academically while also offering multiple opportunities for our students to shine in the Arts. Together, we can accomplish great things! Please consider getting involved in our PTO and coming to see the performances of our Arts groups this school year. We hope that the student handbook/calendar of school events being sent home will help you plan to attend activities.

I am so fortunate to lead Duncan and our amazing group of teachers and students. Although this is my first year, I can already tell that Duncan is a special place.
