Welcome! I am Lacy Grant, and I have been teaching special education since 2006. I have a B.S. in Special Education with a focus on Learning Disabilities and ADHD from USC Upstate. I am currently in a program to be a Certified Autism Specialist. I have worked with students with all kinds of disabilities and have touched at some point or another K5-8th grade. I absolutely love what I do!

My husband Erick and I have two energetic children, Brynn and Max, and our kitties Maui, Sally Ann, and Gruff. We enjoy spending time outside, playing board games, and having movie nights. I am a Boiling Springs graduate--I played French horn and was drum major for the Bulldog Band. If you had told me then I would work with Byrnes, who was our biggest rival at the time, I would have thought you were crazy! Turns out though, it's a great place to be. 

I am passionate about getting children the help they need to "level the playing field." If a child has a broken leg, we give her crutches. It is no different with children with other disabilities. Rick Lavoie, a special education expert, says, "Fair doesn't mean giving every child the same thing, but giving every child what they need." My goal is always to teach children to be their own advocate so they feel confident and empowered in their abilities.
