Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Julie Watson
September 10, 2017
Hello! Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! My name is Julie Watson. I am excited to be teaching your child fourth grade English/Language Arts this school year! I am very fortunate to be teaching at Reidville. Reidville is a wonderful school and community. I am looking forward to helping your child develop their love and enjoyment of reading and writing. The children will be switching classes this year. They will be with me for half of the day for English/Language Arts and then they will be with Ms. Wilson for math, science and social studies for the other half of the day. Reidville is continuing our one-to-one technology initiative this year. The children have received their own school laptop computer. They will be using their laptops as a way to enhance their learning in each subject. The children are responsible for taking care of their school laptop and also using it appropriately each day.
Let me give you some background information about myself. This is my thirteenth year of classroom teaching in public school. I began my teaching career back in the fall of 2000. I graduated from Clemson University in May of 2000 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. (Go Tigers!) I am certified to teach the early childhood and elementary grades. I taught first grade for seven years and second grade for two years all in Greenville County. I have also taught K-4 in a private pre-school setting. This is my 4th year teaching fourth grade at Reidville.
I am married to my husband, Jason. Our daughter, Anna, just turned 11 years old at the end of August and she is in the sixth grade at Berry Shoals Intermediate. She plays the flute in the Berry Shoals band and she enjoys taking private flute lessons as well. We also have two cats and one Airedale dog who just turned a year old this past summer. Our dog's name is Biscuit.
I am looking forward to getting to know your child this school year! I know that it will be very rewarding to watch your child grow and learn throughout the year. Your child will learn so much and will be very prepared for entering intermediate school.
Please let me know if you ever have any questions and/or concerns. I know that this will be a fun and fulfilling school year for your child.
