Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Heather Elliott
I am a 2001 graduate of Byrnes High School (GO REBELS!) where I was an active member of the Rebel Regiment. Following high school, I took my love of music to the University of South Carolina (GO GAMECOCKS!) and earned my undergraduate degree in music with a concentration in percussion.
After graduating from USC, I got married to a sweet and wonderful man named Patrick Elliott and soon after began working as an assistant in the library at Duncan Elementary. My experiences there sparked my interest in becoming an elementary education teacher. I then went to graduate school at Converse College and received a Master of Arts in Education, certified in grades second through sixth.
I completed my student teaching at Abner Creek Academy in 2010 with Mrs. Erica Clyburn and haven't left since. I subbed here at The Creek for two years, as well as worked in the afterschool program. In 2012 I became a 4th grade teacher alongside Mrs. McDade. Finally, this year, 2016, I switched jobs one more time and am now the literary arts teacher.
In March, 2014 my husband and I expanded our family with a handsome son, Rowan Elliott, and I am enjoying the adventure of being a teacher and a mommy all at the same time!
